Mason High School senior Xander Wells was recognized as The Kiwanis Club of Mason's November Student of the Month. Wells was nominated by
MHS Science Teacher
Barb Shuba.
“Xander always sees the positive and is a role model for our students. As a leader of the Black Hole, president of NHS, active member of SIBS, and leader in the Bank, he is the voice of our student body," explained Shuba. "He has the unique ability to generate enthusiasm for our activities, and to get our students engaged and having fun at our events. While he understands the importance of academics, he also sees the value in those difference maker skills and in enjoying the high school experience.”
Wells is a HOPE Squad member, SIBS leader, member of NHS, helps lead the Black Hole student cheering section, plays Ultimate, and is an attack for the lacrosse team.
On November 15, the Kiwanis Club presented Wells with $100, a Kiwanis bell, and a certificate commemorating his achievement. Xander's parents, Jeff and Rosemary Wells, assistant principal Amy Hull, superintendent Jonathan Cooper, and nominator
Shuba
joined the Kiwanians in recognizing Xander's accomplishments. The Mason Kiwanis Club meets weekly at noon at the Houston Restaurant in Mason.
