Mason High School senior Lindsay Welage was recognized as The Kiwanis Club of Mason's October Student of the Month. Welage was nominated by MHS Math Teacher Kristi Stephens.
"Lindsay is an outstanding young lady. She comes to my class every day ready to learn, participate, and help her peers. She is involved with the organizing and success of our Peer Tutoring Program. She was a co-chair for the Pep Rally and did a great job making sure it was a success this year. She is in our Teacher Academy program and works really hard preparing for her future. Lindsay is amazing and I can't think of a better student of the month," said Stephens.
On October 19, the Kiwanis Club presented Welage with $50 and a certificate commemorating her achievement. Welage's parents, Rick and Lisa, assistant principal Dion Reyes, superintendent Dr. Gail Kist-Kline, and nominator Stephens joined the Kiwanians in recognizing Lindsay's accomplishments. The Mason Kiwanis Club meets weekly at noon at the Houston Restaurant in Mason.
