Riley Named Kiwanis December Student of the MonthMason High School senior Kirsten Riley was recognized as The Kiwanis Club of Mason's December Student of the Month. Riley was nominated by
MHS Language Arts teacher and STUGO advisor
 Betsy Carras.

“Kirsten Riley is AMAZING! As a senior in Student Government, she has made sure everything she has been in charge of has happened by amazing follow through! Even though she may have committee members helping her in some cases, she was always the one to make things happen!" shared Carras

In a time where we see individuals saying "What do I get out of this?" Kirsten focuses on finishing the event in the best possible method, not thinking about getting ANY accolades for such events. She is totally behind the scenes - not doing anything for recognition! She is amazing! I can't say enough about this young lady. In an organization of over 300 students, she is the most reliable, most flexible, and has the most incite to the events. She will truly be missed once she graduates!”

Riley has many college acceptances to choose from, and plans to be a pre-med major. She is a member of STUGO, Mason Inclusion Club, and Hope Squad.

On December 6, the Kiwanis Club presented Riley with $100, a Kiwanis bell, and a certificate commemorating her achievement. Kirsten's parents, Dwight and Leatrice Riley, assistant principal Amy Hull, superintendent Jonathan Cooper, and nominator
Carras
joined the Kiwanians in recognizing Kirsten's accomplishments. The Mason Kiwanis Club meets weekly at noon at the Houston Restaurant in Mason.
