Disaster! the Musical is a brand new show making its regional premiere at Mason High School. MHS Performing Arts will present the regional premier of Disaster! the Musical by Seth Rudetsky and Jack Plotnick on April 26, 27, 28 and 29, in Mason High School’s Auditorium. Show times are 7pm on April 26, 8pm on April 27 and 28, and 3pm on April 29.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors. All senior citizen Mason Golden Comet Card holders are invited to attend the final dress rehearsal on April 25 at 7pm free of charge, or can reserve a limited number of free tickets by calling the Public Information Office at 398-0474, option 7. The show is a parody of 70’s disaster movies like Towering Inferno and The Poseidon Adventure. What makes the show special is that it includes 25 disco, pop, and rock hits from the 70’s. Songs include Hot Stuff, Knock on Wood, 25 or 6 to 4, Still the One, and many more. This hilarious show is rated PG for mild adult language, mild adult situations, and very ridiculous perilous situations. It is suitable for all but the youngest family members.
Disaster! has a cast of 55 students and features a large ensemble cast that includes, Anna Kosiarek, Matt Berman, David Hardy, Collin Aldrich, Sujaya Sunkara, Megan Ledord, Sam Terribilini, Liz Rivers, and many others. The show is stage managed by Leah Markvan, assistant directed by Vidisha Patni and Soumya Jaiswall, and assistant technical directed bySarah Epstein. The play is produced by special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
