Mason High School visual art students put on an outstanding performance in this year’s Regional Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Twenty-seven MHS students won a grand total of 38 awards in this year’s competition.
Four of Mason’s student artists were awarded a total of five Gold Keys in their individual categories. Winners of the Gold Key, amounting to top honors in a particular art category, include: Lauren Fournier, Emma Morrissey, Tasha Norris, Jenny Wan.
These Gold Key winners are National Qualifiers, and will have their regional award winning pieces forwarded to New York City for national judging. Those results will be released later this spring.
MHS also had 14 Silver Key winning artworks and 19 honorable mentions. The Silvers and Honorable Mentions will be joining the Gold Key winners in being displayed at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. The exhibition will run January 20-February 3.
The Scholastic Art Awards is a program recognizing the fine arts talents of area schools and students from Northern Kentucky, Southeastern Indiana, and Greater Cincinnati Schools.
