Coleman Named Mason Recipient of Celebrate ExcellenceMason High School science teacher Elizabeth Coleman was recently chosen as the recipient of the Celebrate Excellence Award sponsored by the Hamilton County Education Foundation. The award recognizes excellent professionals in public education.

The Celebrate Excellence Educator Recognition Breakfast was held on May 3 at the Sharonville Convention Center. Twenty-five professionals representing public schools were recognized for their impact on the districts they serve.

"Liz Coleman uses the currency of science - facts, data, evidence - to lead. She is curious, compassionate, honest, and humble. Liz continually reflects on her lesson design and the individual students whom she interacts with daily to ensure she is delivering high quality learning experiences that stretch them beyond where they thought they could go," shared MHS Principal Bobby Dodd. "One of her students recently said, "AP Biology is really hard. And, I'm not one of the students at the top in grades. But, Mrs. Coleman believes in me, and takes the time to get to know us as people, and encourages us to love what we're learning - instead of just caring about what grade we get in her class or on the test."

As a leader within the school, she thoughtfully listens to her colleagues' feedback, asks questions to push their thinking further, and collaborates with the administration with poise - always keeping the focus on student outcomes."
